A three-day transnational training programme was recently held in Rome as part of the Relight project, bringing together trainers, partner organizations, and young migrant women to foster empowerment, learning, and growth. The training aimed to equip participants with practical tools and skills to navigate challenges, build self-leadership, and create inclusive opportunities within their communities. Key sessions explored entrepreneurship, intersectionality, and the establishment of women’s circles as support networks, offering a comprehensive approach to promoting integration and empowerment.
The Relight project focuses on empowering young migrant women through gender-sensitive entrepreneurial training and the development of leadership skills. During the training, participants delved into topics such as transforming intersectional discrimination into a strength, cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, and building collaborative, inclusive spaces for personal and professional growth. By addressing these themes, the programme highlighted the importance of self-awareness, resilience, and community-building for migrant women to thrive.
Beyond the sessions, the training featured inspiring events, such as a speech by human rights activist Nadia Ghulam and the celebration of International Volunteering Day. Networking activities, a guided tour of Rome, and a farewell gathering allowed participants to forge meaningful connections and reflect on their shared journey. This impactful training exemplified the Relight project’s mission to empower migrant women, equipping them with the tools to shape their futures and inspire change in their communities.
