As part of the Relight project, FacilitAscolto recently held a transformative training session for a women’s circle of migrants. Creating Women’s Circles aims to foster integration by bringing together local and migrant women. The circles serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, thoughts, and experiences and thus strengthening the bond between these groups in society.

A Transformative Training for Young Migrant Women in Rome, Italy

A three-day transnational training programme was recently held in Rome as part of the Relight project, bringing together trainers, partner organizations, and young migrant women to foster empowerment, learning, and growth. The training aimed to equip participants with practical tools and skills to navigate challenges, build self-leadership, and create inclusive opportunities within their communities. Key sessions explored entrepreneurship, intersectionality, and the establishment of women’s circles as support networks, offering a comprehensive approach to promoting integration and empowerment.

According to UN Women, we are living in a time in history when more women migrate to improve their job opportunities and quality of life:

‘For many, migration brings these advantages, but for others, it includes dangerous risks, such as exploitation in domestic work and vulnerability to violence.’

The RELIGHT project aims to contribute to the socio-economic integration of young migrant women through the enhancement of their entrepreneurship skills through gender-sensitive training programs and at the same time creating sustainable local development.
